Meta India Head Arun Srinivas Named in FIR Over Morphed Photos Targeting PM Modi

Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police have registered cases against Meta India head Arun Srinivas and operators of several Facebook and Instagram accounts over allegedly morphed and objectionable posts targeting PM Modi during student paper leak protests. The cases relate to content shared on Meta-owned platforms during demonstrations led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which spearheaded nationwide protests demanding accountability over the examination paper leak controversy. Authorities alleged that manipulated visuals and objectionable posts aimed at the Prime Minister were widely circulated through multiple social media accounts. The FIRs invoke provisions relating to the dissemination of false and objectionable digital content, with investigators examining the role of account operators as well as the platform's compliance with legal obligations. Police are also tracing the origin and distribution network of the disputed posts.
