Crypto Super PAC Fairshake Launches $30M Campaign Against Sherrod Brown

Crypto super PAC Fairshake is launching a $30 million ad and mail campaign against former Sen. Sherrod Brown of Ohio, according to the New York Times. The move comes after every Senate Democrat voted against the pro-crypto Clarity Act, including two candidates Fairshake had backed in 2024. Fairshake, which has $120.4 million alongside two affiliated groups, spent $41 million against Brown in 2024 and its spending this cycle is expected to lean heavily Republican. Brown, who has dialed back public criticism of crypto, said he has 'not moderated' his position but doesn't have 'great interest' in going further than acknowledging the industry’s economic role. Brown's opponent, Sen. Jon Husted, already holds a roughly $30 million advertising advantage in the race.
