Vietnam Seizes 1,217 Smuggled iPhones Worth Over 90 Billion Dong

Vietnamese customs officials have confiscated a large batch of smuggled iPhones, totaling 1,217 units, with an estimated value exceeding 90 billion Vietnamese dong. The used phones, originating from China, were found in a transport vehicle without valid customs declaration documents. The suspect confessed to being hired for border transportation, earning 8 million dong per phone. Authorities have charged seven suspects and are investigating the cross-border smuggling network. This type of smuggling aims to avoid taxes and sell the phones at low prices in the Vietnamese market.
