Russian Elections Proceed Calmly Despite Cyberattacks and Observer Complaints

Ella Pamfilova, Chair of the Central Election Commission (CEC) in Russia, reported that the ongoing State Duma elections are proceeding peacefully and in accordance with the law, despite over 100 million potentially dangerous impacts on election resources blocked. She confirmed no successful cyberattacks since September 18, with most attacks originating from abroad, including Ukraine and the UK. Pamfilova noted 26 complaints related to observer rights difficulties, which were addressed immediately. She dismissed reports of mass denial of observer access as fake. International observers from Europe and the US are monitoring the process.
