Ghalibaf Links US Inflation to Hormuz Strait Control

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, took to Twitter to criticize the US Federal Reserve's monetary policy decisions, asserting that they have little impact on controlling US inflation. He argued that inflation expectations in the US are primarily influenced by geopolitical factors, particularly Iran's control over the Hormuz Strait and Bab al-Mandab, crucial energy chokepoints. Ghalibaf sarcastically questioned whether raising interest rates could open these straits or increase oil production.
