Russia to Factor Finland's Nuclear Initiative into Military Planning

Russia has stated that it will consider Finland's accession to the French nuclear deterrence initiative in its military planning. Alexander Grushko, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister, described this move as 'clearly negative', asserting that it undermines the nuclear non-proliferation regime and reduces security levels in Europe. Finland's decision to join the initiative was announced earlier this year, following the lifting of a long-standing legislative ban on the import and storage of nuclear weapons on its territory.
