Israeli Settlers Storm Al Aqsa Mosque During Rosh Hashanah

Approximately 500 Israeli settlers broke into the Al Aqsa complex this morning during the Jewish New Year celebration of Rosh Hashanah, according to the Jerusalem Governorate. The intruders entered through the Moroccan Gate and were escorted by Israeli military forces. The entry of Jewish worshipers, against the 'status quo', is due to the fact that it is in this enclosure where it is believed that the First and Second Jewish Temples were located. Groups linked to the so-called 'Temple Rebuilding Organizations' had called on their supporters to participate massively in the incursion into the Al Aqsa Mosque and to perform rituals within the compound.
