9/11-Linked Cancer Cases Continue to Rise

Twenty-five years after the 9/11 attacks, cancer cases linked to the disaster continue to rise. A Washington Post analysis found that the number of 9/11 survivors receiving aid for cancer treatment has roughly tripled over the past five years. The increase in cancer cases is attributed to exposure to carcinogens and other contaminants at Ground Zero. The long-term health consequences of the attacks are still unfolding, with tens of thousands of responders and survivors developing cancers and other illnesses.
