Delhi Spruces Up for BRICS Summit

The Delhi government is preparing for the upcoming BRICS Summit by inspecting key routes and sprucing up city parts. The inspection, led by the chief secretary, will focus on roads, potholes, footpaths, drainage, cleanliness, and overall civic appearance. Officials from various departments, including the NDMC, MCD, PWD, Delhi Police, DIAL, and NHAI, are involved in the exercise. The additional chief secretary (I & FC) is reviewing drainage arrangements and emergency dewatering measures. The NDMC chairperson and MCD commissioner are responsible for checking areas under their jurisdictions. The PWD is examining roads, potholes, cleanliness, signage, illumination, and waterlogging. The Delhi Traffic Police is reviewing traffic management arrangements, while DIAL and NHAI officials are ensuring preparedness around the airport and on stretches under their authorities.
