Israeli Forces' Use of White Phosphorus Munitions Condemned

Human Rights Watch and the International Human Rights Clinic at Harvard Law School have released a report documenting 23 verified incidents of Israeli use of white phosphorus munitions in southern Lebanon between March and May 2026. These munitions, which produce fire when exposed to oxygen, can inflict excruciating burns and cause lifelong physical, psychological, and socioeconomic harm. Despite not being regulated by a specific treaty, countries should condemn their use, call for further international talks, and ensure international law addresses their unacceptable human costs.
