Jordanian Army Foils Drug Smuggling Attempts Using Balloons

The Jordanian Armed Forces have successfully thwarted multiple attempts to smuggle large quantities of drugs into the country using guided balloons. The incidents occurred in the Eastern Military Region, with the most recent happening on Tuesday. The army shot down the balloons within Jordanian territory and seized the drug cargo. This month alone, the army has foiled four such attempts, along with an infiltration attempt and arresting the infiltrator. Syrian security forces also reported foiling a drug smuggling attempt in the countryside of Sweida.
