North Korea Adds Nuclear-Capable Destroyer to Fleet

North Korea has commissioned a new 5,000-ton destroyer, the Kang Kon, which will become part of its nuclear response system. The ship, the second of its class, was launched in a ceremony attended by Kim Jong Un, who stated that the navy would continue to expand its naval nuclear capabilities and strategic assets. The Kang Kon is equipped with a 127mm artillery mount, a surface-to-air missile-artillery system, and 74 launch cells for various caliber rockets, including strategic cruise missiles with nuclear warheads.
