Iran-Pakistan Border Truck Idling Crisis

Truck drivers at the Iran-Pakistan border, particularly at the Rimdan border, are protesting against long-term idling due to poor conditions, lack of facilities, and fuel shortages. The issue has been ongoing for at least seven days, with drivers complaining about inadequate access to water, sanitation, and rest areas. Refrigerated and covered trucks are not being allowed to pass, leading to spoilage of food cargo. The head of the Transportation Commission of Tehran's Chamber of Commerce attributes the issue to increased pressure on eastern routes due to disruptions in maritime transport and insufficient infrastructure at the border.
