Malaysia Considers Moving LIMA to Boost Competitiveness

Defense Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin proposed relocating the International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) from Langkawi to a larger venue with international-standard facilities. He cited competition from neighboring countries and the need for continuous improvement to attract participation. Among the suggested alternative locations is Klebang, Malacca. However, the proposal sparked concern from Kedah's Tourism, Culture, and Entrepreneurship Exco, Datuk Mohd Salleh Saidin, who argued that LIMA is deeply rooted in Langkawi and brings significant economic benefits to the island.
