Moldova Implements Temporary Licensing for Cereal and Oilseed Imports

Moldova's Parliament has approved a temporary licensing mechanism for the import of cereal and oilseed crops, aiming to protect local farmers from an influx of cheap products from neighboring countries, particularly Ukraine. The initiative, proposed by deputy Sergei Ivanov, allows imports of wheat, meslin, corn, and sunflower (including seeds for sowing) only with permits from the Ministry of Agriculture.
