The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced that toll fees will be waived for the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) segment between Pulilan, Bulacan and San Fernando, Pampanga starting September 2, 2026. This decision is in response to heavy traffic caused by flooding in the San Simon, Pampanga area. The toll rebate will be credited directly to motorists' RFID accounts the day after the toll passage. The DOTr has also directed NLEX to provide timely warnings for heavy rainfall and take proactive measures to prevent similar incidents.
