Moscow's Unusual September Weather: Warm Indian Summer Followed by Polar Cold Snaps

Moscow is set for an unusually warm Indian summer in early September with temperatures reaching up to +27°C on Knowledge Day (September 1). This warm spell will last until the first week of autumn, with temperatures around +21°C to +22°C, which is 3.5 degrees above the climate norm. However, meteorologists predict two waves of polar cold snaps, with the first wave expected from September 6 to 10, making it a couple of degrees colder than normal, and the second wave at the beginning of September 20, with temperatures dropping to +12°C to +13°C. Despite the cold snaps, September is expected to be generally warm and wet with about 30-40% more rain than usual. The first frosts are not expected in the near future.
