NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, named after the pioneering astronomer who helped establish space astronomy at NASA, launched on August 30, 2026. The telescope, which carries a 2.4-meter primary mirror, will survey vast areas of the sky, mapping hundreds of millions of galaxies, stars, and planetary systems.
