The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has increased its key policy rate by 0.5 percentage points to 15.5%, the highest level since December 2014. The decision was made to maintain the attractiveness of hryvnia savings, stabilize the foreign exchange market, and control inflation. The NBU is ready to further tighten monetary policy if necessary, with a return to easing not expected until the second quarter of 2027.
