The largest European pension fund, ABP, has significantly reduced its holdings in US Treasury bonds. The Dutch fund, managing over €530 billion for public officials and teachers, cut its US Treasury holdings from around €29 billion at the end of 2024 to just €4.6 billion by the end of March 2026, an 84% reduction. ABP has also reduced its holdings in US company stocks such as Nvidia, Microsoft, and Apple. The fund has shifted capital towards European government bonds, particularly in Germany and the Netherlands, citing convenience and new Dutch pension system rules.
