A recent CBOS survey in Poland reveals that the deterioration of Poles' attitude towards Ukrainians is primarily driven by disagreements over the Volyn tragedy (45.4%), social benefits for Ukrainians (36.4%), and Russian propaganda (26.2%). The poll, conducted from August 17 to 20, also found that 92.4% of respondents acknowledged some cooling in their attitude towards Ukrainians. Political sympathies influenced the perceived reasons, with supporters of the ruling coalition more likely to blame Russian propaganda, while opposition voters pointed to the Volyn tragedy and statements of Ukrainian politicians.
