The pensioner was initially contacted by someone posing as a law enforcement officer, followed by a 'senior investigator' and a 'representative of the financial authority'. They threatened him with a criminal case and convinced him to 'save' his savings by withdrawing money and handing it over to couriers. The man bought a new phone, installed an app for communication, and answered bank employees' questions according to a script prepared by the scammers.
