Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto visited West Kalimantan's Kubu Raya Regency to inspect forest and land fire scenes on August 22, 2026. He emphasized swift and multi-faceted handling of the fires, encouraging on-site personnel and promising resources to maximize efforts. The visit followed a closed-door meeting on fire handling at Supadio Air Force Base. Meanwhile, President Joko Widodo visited the same region a day earlier, overseeing fire-fighting operations and deploying artificial rain to combat burning. He also ordered the acceleration of artificial rain operations and the allocation of disaster relief resources until fires are extinguished.
