SC Asks Centre to Preserve RAF Ammunition Log in NEET Protests

The Supreme Court directed the Centre to preserve the ammunition log of Rapid Action Force (RAF) deployed at Jantar Mantar during students' protest against NEET paper leak. The top court questioned a plea seeking a complete ban on use of metallic pellet guns for crowd control. The petition, filed by former Central Information Commissioner Yashovardhan Azad and two victims, sought a ban on pellet guns, contending they are incompatible with constitutional standards governing the use of force. The court also asked the Delhi government to provide best treatment to those injured during the protest.
