STF Orders Return of 'Exorbitant' Payments to Judges

Ministers Alexandre de Moraes and Flávio Dino of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) ordered the immediate suspension of excessive payments to magistrates in seven state courts and members of the Attorney General's Office (AGU). The decision affects the Courts of Justice of Goiás, Maranhão, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, Rondônia, and the Federal District. The ministers determined that the courts must return amounts paid in excess and interrupt the payments. The presidents of the seven courts will have five days to present documents proving compliance with the return decisions.
