FBI Seeks Information on Missing Afghan-American Businessman Mahmoud Shah Habibi

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has renewed its appeal for information on the whereabouts of Mahmoud Shah Habibi, an Afghan-American businessman who went missing in Kabul in 2022. Habibi, a former head of Afghanistan's Civil Aviation Authority, was allegedly detained by the Taliban's intelligence agency along with his driver and other employees. The FBI has offered a $5 million reward for information leading to his location and return. The Taliban has repeatedly denied holding Habibi, with spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid stating that there is no prisoner by that name in Afghanistan.
