Malaysian Political Alliances: BN's Stance on Seat Allocation for Melaka State Election

Barisan Nasional (BN) has stated that it will defend all 21 state seats it won in Malacca in the upcoming state election, refusing to share any constituencies with other parties. This strategy differs from the recent Negeri Sembilan election where BN and Gagasan Sejahtera agreed to contest only 25 seats each. BN's Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim expressed hope that the 'blue wave' trend seen in the Johor state election will continue in Malacca. Meanwhile, UMNO has warned any party collaborating with them not to be influenced by third parties, citing past experiences of sabotage. UMNO's President Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki also announced a cautious approach to future collaborations. Pakatan Harapan (PH) has welcomed BN's willingness to discuss seat allocation for the Melaka state election, with PH's Director of Communications Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil stating that party-level preparations are underway. PN's chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has confirmed that PN is open and ready to hold talks with BN for the Melaka state election.
