Qatar-Oman Relations: A Strong Legacy and a Promising Future

The fraternal relations between Qatar and Oman reflect a longstanding journey of cooperation and integration, underpinned by mutual respect and commitment to advancing common interests. The visit of Qatar's Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Oman in 2013, followed by Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq's state visit to Doha in 2021, and Sheikh Tamim's visit to Muscat in 2025, have strengthened bilateral relations. Political coordination between the two countries is characterized by stability and depth, with both nations committed to strengthening collective action within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) framework. Bilateral trade has witnessed notable growth, reaching approximately OMR 1.113 billion (USD 2.89 billion) by the end of 2023. Cultural cooperation is also thriving, with exchanges across various fields such as art, music, publishing, and heritage preservation.
