What you can ask Claude
Ask in your preferred language. For search_news, Claude should translate the search query to English before sending it to the English-language Story index.
“What are the latest major news stories from France? Include original sources and timestamps.”
“Find recent developments in US–China trade policy and show supporting posts from Telegram and X.”
“What is trending in business news today?”
“Compare coverage of recent AI regulation across different publishers.”
“Show the original-language Telegram messages and English translations for this story, where available.”

How the news is organized
Stories
Stable, deduplicated news events assembled from related Posts. A Story has English-normalized text, a category, optional subcategories and timestamps, and can evolve as new Posts are collected.
Posts
Individual Telegram messages, X posts or RSS entries. They may include a source link, language, timestamp, original text, an available English translation and media metadata. RSS text is often a feed description rather than the full article.
Sources
The originating channels, accounts or RSS feeds. A Source's geographic coverage describes the publisher's focus, not necessarily the location of an event.
Search and filtering
keyword
Match explicit terms and retrieve older material when it is available.
semantic
Match meaning across an approximate recent-history window, currently around 35 days.
hybrid
Combine explicit terms and semantic meaning in one Story search.
Available filters
- Dates
- Categories and subcategories
- Source IDs and source types
- Source coverage
- Post languages
- Source verification status
Query and pagination notes
Search queries must be English even when Claude answers in another language. Results can be sorted by relevance or update time. Feeds use opaque continuation cursors; pass a returned cursor unchanged to retrieve the next page.
Typical research workflow
- 1
Search with
search_news, or retrieve recent Stories withget_latest_news. - 2
Choose a Story ID and call
get_story_detailsfor additional context. - 3
Call
get_story_sourcesto inspect original Posts, source links, timestamps and optional text expansion. - 4
Use
find_news_sourcesto investigate publishers, orbrowse_news_catalogto refine future filters. - 5
Follow source links and corroborate consequential claims independently.
Troubleshooting
Connector does not connect
Verify the exact HTTPS URL, try disconnecting and reconnecting, and check service availability. The no-sign-in integration is designed for hosted Claude connections and may not work as an anonymous HTTP client from an arbitrary network.
A search returns irrelevant or no results
Ask Claude to issue a natural-English search query, simplify the topic, switch between keyword, semantic and hybrid modes, or relax filters and date ranges.
A Story has fewer Posts than expected
Fetch the next page if the returned cursor indicates more data. Text expansion is opt-in and limited.
A claim looks questionable
Open the original source URLs and compare independent reporting. Verification reflects source-platform signals, not independent fact-checking.
