    Malaysia Busts Syndicate Posing as Hong Kong Police for Scams

    Malaysian police have arrested 18 Taiwanese nationals for impersonating Hong Kong police officers and targeting Hong Kong residents in a phone scam operation. The syndicate, based in Kuala Lumpur, used local internet facilities and Hong Kong police uniforms to carry out the scams over the past five months. Police seized 69 mobile phones, five laptops, and two Hong Kong police uniforms during the raid.

    14-Hour Rescue: German Hiker Abandoned at 2600m

    Three German hikers started on the Königsjodler via ferrata in Austria despite adverse weather conditions and a late start. One of them, a 20-year-old, became exhausted and had to be left behind by his companions who continued to the closed Matrashaus hut. A snowstorm prevented a helicopter rescue, and the mountain rescue team took 14 hours to reach the stranded hiker, securing him for descent through deep snow and difficult terrain. The operation ended at around 8:20 a.m. the next day.
