    Malawi Mourns MBC Director General Brian Banda

    Malawi is mourning the sudden death of Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) Director General Brian Banda, who passed away at 45 after a short illness. He served as MBC Director General since March 2023 and had a long career in journalism, working for various media outlets including Capital Radio and Times Group. Banda also served as Press Secretary to former Presidents Joyce Banda and Lazarus Chakwera. Funeral arrangements are underway, with a burial scheduled for Monday at M’banda Village in Chileka, Blantyre.
