
Trial Begins Against 12 Accused of Running 'Parallel Customs Office' for Smuggling from Bolivia
The Oral Criminal Court No. 2 of Salta began the trial in Oran against 12 people accused of belonging to a criminal association dedicated to smuggling goods from Bolivia. The organization operated between July and August 2025 through a structure set up on a farm on the Bermejo River, charging tolls for the passage of loaded vehicles. Around 300 vehicles per day were involved, with economic movements totaling $2,975,392,851.56.
