West Nile Virus Outbreak in Greece and Skopje
The West Nile virus is circulating at high levels in Greece and Skopje, with 110 confirmed cases in Greece and 34 in Skopje since the beginning of the monitoring period. East Attica and Skopje's municipalities are the epicenters. Professor Gikas Magiorkinis and EODY warn that this could be one of the toughest years for the virus. Measures include personal protective measures against mosquitoes, larvicide and adulticide spraying, and public awareness campaigns. Two deaths have been reported in Skopje.25 sourcesSee all sources
