Russia Launches Digital Ruble
Starting September 1, major banks in Russia will allow clients to access and use the digital ruble, a new form of national currency supplementing cashless and cash transactions. The Central Bank demonstrated how to open and top up a digital ruble wallet. Key features include free transfers and payments for citizens, no limits for businesses, and the ability to pay for purchases, taxes, and budget payments. The digital ruble can be used through a dedicated section in participating banks' mobile apps.22 sourcesSee all sources
