Vince Dizon Returns as DOTr Chief, Giovanni Lopez Takes Over DPWH
Vince Dizon, who previously served as DOTr Secretary from February to September 2025, is reassigned to the position by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. He replaces Giovanni Lopez, who will now lead the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Trump DOJ's Bid to Set Aside California Ballots Rejected by Appeals Court
A federal appeals court panel rejected the Trump administration's emergency request to force California to set aside 20,000 ballots suspected of being cast by noncitizens. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 that it lacked jurisdiction over the appeal, as the lower court had not yet considered the Justice Department's application for a Temporary Restraining Order. The court sent the case back to the district court for further proceedings.
